4000m2 granite setts
3 kilometres of seating/kerb blocks A favourite of Streetpave. This stunning job was a gift from london to the queen for her golden jubilee celebrations which Her Majesty The Queen officially opened on the 25th October 2013. Our scope of works involved the machine laying of 3 kilometres of large granite edging seating blocks in a pre-cut curving feature. Each block weighed between 300-2500 kilos. Each block had to sit perfectly next to the other. This formed the outline of the paved area. We then laid 4000m2 of flamed and cropped 100×100 setts laid on to a concrete bed and grouted. All laid and cut in for sweeping curves. Because of the way the blocks were laid we had to cut the equivalent of 18 kilometres of granite setts.
